PLACEMENT AND VOLUNTEERING

AWA DANCE provides placement opportunities each year, tailored to each person and can vary in length and role, providing understanding on how social impact and arts organisations operate and provide skill development in numerous areas. We work with freelancers and organisations like Creative Academy and London Studio Centre.

WOMEN IN DANCE LEADERSHIP AWARD

in 2021 and 2022 we hosted the first of its kind, the AWA DANCE Women in Dance Leadership Award. It seeks to celebrate women in the UK dance sector. ​ Due to lack of funding we have not been able to deliver this programme again. Contact us if you have ideas on how to find sponsorships to make it happen again.

MENTORING WOMEN IN DANCE

Our 7 month Mentoring Programme has been running since 2020 and it is designed for professionals women in the UK dance sector who are looking to learn or boost their leadership skills to progress their career. They are mentored by accomplished women professionals, actively leading within the industry.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

Leadership is about understanding and experiencing creative thinking. Our special projects aim to develop this skill through the power of dance in collaboration with other art forms. SAFE GUARDING TRAINING IN DANCE

Online Safeguarding in Dance course. Special attention dedicated to working with girls and young women. Provides CPD certificate. Held in September and February. Follow us on social media channels

EQUITY WOMEN TOOLKIT

Equity is the trade union for artists in the UK. Equity's toolkit brings together resources for women in the creative industries. While many of these issues affect all Equity members, women continue to be disproportionately affected by sexual harassment, low pay, caring responsibilities and ageing out of the profession.
