EQUITY4WOMEN TOOLKIT

Equity is the trade union for artists in the UK.

Equity’s toolkit brings together resources for women in the creative industries. While many of these issues affect all Equity members, women continue to be disproportionately affected by sexual harassment, low pay, caring responsibilities and ageing out of the profession. The toolkit offers very valuable support and we encourage you to read and share it!

In their
own
words...

AWA DANCE has broadened my perspective within the UK Dance Sector, and I now realise the importance and need to recognise women in the industry. There is a synergy between being a woman and a leader and my awareness has grown to see this reflected in myself and the women around me

I have made the leap from managing to leading, by developing the many healthy attributes of leadership the charity promotes. AWA DANCE has helped me to grow (and keep growing) into a brave yet empathetic leader, of not just others, but myself too.

I entirely enjoyed the process and opportunities given. AWA mentoring programme was the Highlight of my 2021.

Awesome experience! Honest space to listen and express; difficult topics dealt with in a humble and courageous manner: nurturing environment for personal and collective reflection, thank you!
